Dinner Event: On Saturday night, family and friends are welcome to attend the Dinner and Awards Celebration but they need to purchase tickets ($40 for adults, $20 for children under 12) in advance on our website.
Tickets cannot be purchased on Saturday.
Watching the start: Spectators who want to watch the start should park at Hedges Hall at Point Lookout Resort and walk the short distance down to the beach or take the shuttle buses. Please do not park on Route 1, which is extremely dangerous.
Ferry to Islesboro: Spectators going to Islesboro may leave a car at Hedges Hall at Point Lookout, take a shuttle to Lincolnville Beach and walk aboard the ferry. (This shuttle will stop at the start, too Point Lookout Beach/Lincolnville Beach “start”, too.) The ferry leaves Lincolnville Beach at 8am and 9am. Please be there at least 15 minutes early to purchase your ticket. The ferry service is a generous supporter of the Islesboro Crossing, and this event places a significant strain on the crew. Help us ensure the success of this event in the future by making their day easier; Arrive in plenty of time, follow their rules, be polite, and all that good stuff. The swim finish is located right at the Islesboro ferry landing, so no need to take your car.
Watching from a boat: We are so happy to have friends of LifeFlight come out to cheer the swimmers on and to watch the action -- thank you! Please check back for the Spectator Boat Briefing as we get closer to August 18th.
Ferry from Islesboro: Ferries return from Islesboro at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30. Shuttles will meet the 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30 ferries at Lincolnville Beach to transport you back to Point Lookout.
Party at the Finish: Thanks for making the finish so festive! There is nothing like the feeling of climbing out of that ocean and being welcomed by a raucous crowd cheering your name. We welcome (and encourage!) you to bring signs, cowbells, and noisemakers to cheer your friends and family members to the finish.
Food at the Finish: Food at the finish is donated by Islesboro residents and is only available to swimmers, paddlers, and volunteers. The Snack Shack (immediately behind the giant food tent) has a variety of breakfast foods and snacks, plus coffee and other beverages available for purchase. The owner supports this event and LifeFlight - please support her!
