As the Executive Director of the LifeFlight Foundation, you might imagine that this event is near and dear to my heart. I am trying to "lead by example" but I need your help to make that happen.
Between August 1 and August 31, I am going to CROSS Maine. I will:
- Bike 50 miles (done)
- Paddleboard across Snow Pond (done)
- Swim across Snow Pond (2022?)
- Summit a mountain (done, Cadillac in Acadia!)
- Swim or kayak in the ocean (done, Ocean Point)
- Hike the perimeter of an island (done, Monhegan)
- Walk the length of a beach (done, Popham)
These activities are not just a great way to get outdoors and enjoy Maine, the challenges symbolize the difficulties of providing lifesaving emergency medical care to Maine's many island and rural communities. I would LOVE to have you join me for any or all of these adventures.
LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization, and is the state’s only emergency medical helicopter service. With three helicopters, an airplane, and ground ambulances, LifeFlight brings ICU-level care directly to the patient. Last year, LifeFlight cared for more than 2,200 patients; that's one mission every 4 hours! ’m comforted to know that LifeFlight will be there for me, and for my friends and family, should the unthinkable happen.
Since 1998, LifeFlight has touched the lives of nearly 32,000 critically ill and injured people from nearly every community in Maine. I’m "Crossing" to support this important cause. Won’t you support it, too? Just click on the “donate” button. Any amount is truly appreciated. Just think, the next time you see or hear a LifeFlight helicopter in the skies above, you will feel especially proud that you've helped to make that happen.
Thanks so much for supporting my efforts, and most importantly, for supporting this critically important service for all of us who live in and love MAINE!!
