Welcome to my Cross for LifeFlight Fundraising Page!
Between August 1 and September 15th I am going to hike or walk 100 miles to support LifeFlight of Maine. Our family is deeply committed to LifeFlight - Steve is serving his 9th year on the Board and I am on the Board's Media committee. After LifeFlight responded to a terrible tragedy on the dock here in Port Clyde a few years ago, our team, the St. George Helicopter Mamas and Papas, deepened its commitment each year.
This year, we can't do the Islesboro Swim because of Covid conditions, so we've each designed our own challenge - one that will illustrate the difficulties of providing lifesaving emergency medical care to Maine’s islands and rural communities.
LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization and the state’s only emergency medical helicopter service. With three helicopters, a fixed wing airplane, and a number of fully-equipped ground ambulances, LifeFlight brings ICU-level care directly to the patient in the least time.
LifeFlight provided lifesaving care to more than 2,200 people last year. I’m comforted to know that they’ll be there for me and you should you need them.
I’m hiking and walking to support this important cause. Won’t you support it, too?
Thanks so much for supporting my efforts for this critically important service for the people of Maine.
